There are so many great places to dine in Walt Disney World and Yak & Yeti is a hidden gem not to be missed. Located in the Asia section near Kali River Rapids. This was my first time dining in the sit down restaurant. I usually eat at the quick service location called Yak & Yeti Local Foods Cafe. Which you will find on the side of the main restaurant with seating in the rear. This is one of my favorite lunch options when visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. I also have to give a shout out to Flame Tree BBQ as my other favorite quick service option.

On our last visit we decided to try out the Yak & Yeti sit down Restaurant. I was excited to get a 5:15 pm dinner reservation. We checked in at the podium 15 minutes prior to our reservation. The air conditioning was cranked up high, which felt wonderful to take a break from the hot Florida sun. Looking around the restaurant I was impressed by all of the beautiful decor. Hues of yellow, blues & greens with eclectic nepalese touches.Mismatched furnishings made of dark wood throughout. It felt like being in a scene from the movie Raiders of the lost Ark. Great artifacts and relics capturing the history of Southeast Asia.Make sure to take the time to look at all of the design elements when dining at Yak & Yeti. Disney back story. The Merchant owner Arjun had to turn his home into a restaurant to earn extra money for the family.

While waiting to be seated we walked into the Bar area and was excited to see some great specialty drinks on the menu. This is a full service bar. So if you are looking to just take a break head in and try one of the great drink specials being offered. My husband went with the Big Bamboo (Parrot Bay Coconut Rum, Don Q Cristal Rum, Banana Liqueur & Tropical Fruit Juices $9.99). I went with the Bonsai Blast (Skyy Vodka, Dekuyper Banana Liqueur Peachtree schnapps, Blue Curacao $9.99). Both of our choices were wonderful and refreshing. They were made perfect. Not too strong or sweet.

We were excited to be seated upstairs at a window with a nice view for people watching. Or if you are dining during the Jammin Jungle Parade you will have a great view.

Our server arrived about 5 minutes after we were seated. On the menu they serve Pan-Asian dishes with a flair for India, China, & Nepal. After looking at the menu I chose the Lettuce cups for two ($13.99) and for my entree I went with the crispy honey chicken ($18.99). My husband tried the Chicken Lo Mein ($18.99). Some other items on the menu are pork pot stickers and Kobe beef burgers. Vegetarian options abound, as do kid-friendly choices like egg rolls, cheeseburgers and chicken tenders.

The food was very filling but we could not leave without tasting the dessert. We enjoyed the Fried Wontons which were filled with cream cheese and pineapple & strawberry skewers. Then we tried the Sorbet trio. It was very tasty and we all enjoyed everything about our dining experience at Yak & Yeti.

After dining be sure to stop in and visit the Yak & Yeti Bhaktapur Market Explore an assortment of regional wares, from incense and teapots to silk purses and saris.

Our overall impression of the Yak & Yeti Restaurant was A+. Disney’s best kept secret. Great food, incredible theming, and great service. This is a great option for Families that offers something a little different on the menu. Yak & Yeti is not to be missed. I can not wait to enjoy this hidden gem on my next visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
