A Preview of Rachel’s Dining at Disney

Hi ya pal!  I have to tell you, this week I’m bouncing off the walls.  My WDW trip is a short 4 days away and I’m thinking of all the great dining experiences I’m going to have.  Some are my favorites, but this time we’re trying new restaurants.  So this week and next week’s article will be similar.  I’m going to list out my reservations and my experiences, if I’ve been there before and what I’m looking forward to at the restaurants that I haven’t been to.

Cinderella’s Royal Table – From taking a glance at the menu, it appears that this is the run of the mill, albeit, great breakfast option.  I hate to admit that I’ve never done Cinderella’s Royal Table before.  I have 2 girls, so not sure why I haven’t.  At any rate, Kelsey and I are looking forward to the whole princess experience.

Ohana – This is our favorite and our must-do every trip.  We love Ohana.  The ambeince, and the food all make for an exceptional experience.  We even love to arrive about an hour early and shop, and just take in the resort.  It is such a beautiful resort.

Hollywood and Vine – This is another new one for us.  A friend once told me that she didn’t care for this place, so I never made a reservation there.  I have another friend who gave the place 2 thumbs up.  So I sided with the other friend and decided to give this place a try.  From looking at the menu, there is something for everyone here.  The menu seems a little short, but my husband, who is the carnivore, must have his meat.  My son, the vegetarian, can have his seafood, salad and pasta.  Kelsey and I eat anything.  Helpful hint…Hollywood and Vine does the Fantasmic dinner package.  So, I scored that on top of trying a new restaurant.  Sweet J

Biergarten – This is also a family favorite.  The only thing I don’t care for here is the fact that you have to sit with other people to eat.  I’m a friendly person, but I don’t want someone watching me eat, and I don’t like watching people eat.  The worst is when you get the giggles when someone is in the middle of chewing.  You give that person an automatic complex.  The food here is great.  I really feel like we are in the middle of Germany when we’re eating.  The entertainment is fun and the crowd really gets involved here.  Seriously though you can hurt yourself in Biergarten.  If you get a chance to eat here, be sure not to fill up on the beer in flight before your meal.  It’s a huge waste of money.  Yes, I’m speaking from experience.

Kouzzina – This is a new experience for us.  I’m still waiting on the reviews.  I’ve posted the question out on Twitter to get a review.  I haven’t heard anything one way or the other.  So, I guess the one thing I’m looking forward to is the fact that this is Iron Chef Cat Kora’s place.  She had a hand in creating the menu, and the recipes for Kouzzina.  If you haven’t guessed by now, I watch a ton of The Food Network.  Because I am, after all, a foodie.   The menu does look inviting (except the lamb).  Lamb to me, is like deer…everyone says I’ll eat it if they cook it because I haven’t had theirs, I just don’t like anyone’s lamb or deer.  Can’t do it, not gonna try!

50’s Prime Time Café – Can I just say OMG!  This is another family favorite.  We’ve had almost everything on the menu and haven’t been disappointed yet.  The peanut butter and jelly shake is to die for.  Typing that just made my mouth water.

Cape May Café – We’re having breakfast here this time.  We’ve only had the dinner here.  I love the dinner.  We’re traveling with young children this time and I wanted to give them as many character meals as I possibly could find.  It doesn’t hurt that our reservation is at 7:20 am, and I’m staying at the Beach Club J  Yes, I did that on purpose.  The other family that we’re travelling with are not staying at the Beach Club.  So they have the travel time.  Bad Rachel, I know.  I’m looking forward to the character experience here.  I’m sure the food is going to be just as good as any other breakfast buffet.

Crystal Palace –  Love, love, love this place.  We’ve been here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.  We are having lunch here.  We love Pooh, Piglet and gang.  Again, there is something for everyone at Crystal Palace.

So these are my dining reservations on this trip.  What do you think?  Have you eaten at any of these places?  Leave a comment below and let me know what you experience was like.  Also, if you have a review of Kouzzina, let me know.  I am a little nervous about this place.  I’m Cajun and will eat almost anything, but I do have my limits.  Come back next week and read my reviews along with pictures of all of these places.  So, for now, I’ll end by saying I’ll see ya real soon!
